Job Description

The SLPA will work directly with patients to provide ongoing treatment. The SLPA will be responsible for providing therapy sessions and completing relevant therapy notes, reports & documentation. Caseload may include the following treatment areas: Early Intervention, Articulation, Language, Social Communication & AAC. This will start as a Contract Part-Time position with the goal of increasing hours by taking new incoming referrals.'

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct screenings to identify speech impairments
  • Provide therapy under the direction of the pathologist
  • Keep track of your patients' progress
  • Maintain files of patient information
  • Conducts patient's treatment goals, and reports to SLP for revision of treatment plan when indicated.
  • Discusses treatment plan with families/caregivers as directed by SLP.
  • Assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by the SLP.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • CPR
  • Licensure or certification by the state of Florida as an SLPA
  • Level II fingerprinting background
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)
  • Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring of patient's progress.
  • Effectively collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to meet patients goals.
