**Overview:** We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our esteemed restaurant team. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests. Your passion for wine and fine dining will shine through in your expertise and recommendations. This is a unique opportunity to work in a prestigious setting, honing your skills and expanding your knowledge in the world of wine. **Responsibilities:** - Provide expert wine service to guests, making recommendations and answering questions about wine selection and pairings. - Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our wine list, including wine regions, grape varieties, and vintages. - Ensure that all wine-related service meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and attention to detail. - Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairings that complement our menu offerings. - Manage the wine cellar, including inventory control, wine storage, and maintenance. - Work closely with the management team to develop wine programs and promotions. - Assist with wine-related events, such as wine tastings and wine dinners. - Maintain a thorough understanding of food safety and proper wine handling. - Handle cash and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system with ease. - Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, ensuring that all guests feel welcome and valued. **Skills:** - In-depth knowledge of wine and fine dining. - Proven customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with guests. - Experience operating a cash register and handling cash transactions. - Familiarity with food safety and proper wine handling practices. - Proficiency with Aloha POS and other restaurant POS systems. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with a focus on fine dining. - Ability to work effectively with the culinary team to create wine pairings. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain wine options to guests. - Experience in bartending or wine service is a plus, but not required. - High school diploma or equivalent required; wine certifications are a plus.
