Position Summary:
Managing and monitoring the installation and ongoing maintenance of our Radiology and Cardiology PACS(s). Supports the Radiology Systems Administrator and assists in the daily operations of these systems.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
Experienced working with PACS and others systems that support Radiology and Cardiology. Formal training in Radiology systems preferred.
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:
Strong working knowledge of computer systems. 3-5 years of recent hospital based experience preferred.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Must be able to converse and function at a high level with vendors, physicians, customers and other departments regarding the varied systems within Radiology and/or Cardiology to include implementations of new medical systems.
Physical Environment:
Primarily multimodality imaging department as well as Williamson Health management Information Technology Department and secondarily other hospital departments where imaging systems are deployed or affected.
Physical Effort:
Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, walking and stooping. Must be able to lift 30 -50 lbs independently. Consistent keyboard usage, exercises good judgment, functions dependently or independently, ability to work well under pressure. Must be available for call.
Key Results:
Monitors and reports, to the Radiology Director, systems issues and/or projects regarding PACS, Meditech and/or other systems. Follows up regularly with written status reports.
Works/takes call whenever needed to include nights and weekends to ensure uptime and reliability of systems and programs within the Radiology and Cardiology Departments.
Communicates potential or existing problems and their potential solutions.
Maintains strong working relationships that promote a positive climate with other hospital departments.
Understands each imaging modality and the specific needs and concerns of the employees who work there.
Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makes appropriate decisions for the facility.
Communicates and follows through with team members and physicians through telephone calls and emails to ensure that all requests are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensures adherence to regulatory standards including HIPAA, Dicom and HL7 for data privacy and transmission.
Does regular rounding to discover areas for improvement and develop process improvement plans.
Works collaboratively and supports efforts of all team members with imaging systems in the Radiology and Cardiology Departments.
Demonstrates a commitment to service, organizational values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.
Maintains a positive and constructive working relationship, while maintaining an open line of communication and support with the Radiology Systems Administrator.
