Job Description

Overview:

This position is responsible for repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :  

  • Ability to perform maintenance in the following areas but not limited to: Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, furniture repair and refinishing.
  • Maintains and repairs bathroom toilets, sinks, tubs/showers – Includes fixture removal and replacement and required caulking
  • Maintains and repairs lights and lighting systems – Includes typical table lamp repairs as well as wall and ceiling mounted lighting
  • Maintains and repairs – Experienced with basic 110 vac duplex receptacle testing and replacement and typical wall mount electrical switches
  • Maintains and repairs plumbed equipment – Experienced with typical sink plumbing from angle stops to faucets, P-traps and drain piping, shower/tubs with single handle mixing valves.
  • Maintains and repairs doors and door hardware – Repair/replacing door latches, hinges & door closers
  • Experienced with basic interior wall repairs – Patching damaged drywall, texture coating, door and window trim repair/replacement and painting.
  • Responds to room call as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, smoke, and vibration. Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
  • This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
  • Required to work in elevated places inside and outside of the building such as lampposts and parking structures and enclosed areas such as boilers, HVAC duct areas and attic spaces. At times, subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
  • Occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all times, with customers as well as all levels of employees.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates and inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
  • Able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
  • Requires being mobile 90% of the shift.
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, and reaching from floor level up to 7 feet, climbing up-stairs, and ladders, lifting, transporting, pushing, pulling and maneuvering large loads up to 300 lbs. use of hand tool and power tools; communication by telephone, beeper, and radios. Requires normal sense of smell, touch, and sound.
  • Requires the eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal vision range.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
  • Operating knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
  • Minimum age requirement is 21.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

Education level, High School Diploma of equivalent.

Experience 2 years in Hotel and Casino maintenance preferred.

Valid Nevada Driver’s License and clean driving record.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills.

Language Skills:

 

Must be able to speak and understand English.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
  • Frequently stooping, reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

 

  • Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
  • Work with others in close spaces.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
  • Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
